Children’s Meals are being prepared for a large gathering. There is an equal number of chicken, hamburger, and fish meals. Each meal comes with a toy: a ball a parachute, or a frisbee. There are twice as many balls as frisbees and an equal number of parachutes and frisbees.
P(chicken) = 1/3
P(fish) = 1/3
P(chicken or fish) = 2/3
for every frisbee there are two ball
for every parachute the is one frisbee
if you think about it that means there are two balls for every pair of frisbee and parachute,
P(ball) = 0.5
P(frisbee) = 0.25
P(parachute) = 0.25
P( (chicken or fish) && ball) = 2/3 * 0.5 = 1/3
